Adding Notes to Food Ingredient Lists
Ingredient lists can often look long and repetitive, and sometimes you wish you could say more with less. But sometimes they feel like they're lacking a bit of extra information that you'd like to give to your customers, and you wish you could say just a little more.
Now you can do both in ReciPal with a new feature that lets you add notes to the end of your ingredient list in a structured way.
Skip the Repetition
The classic use case for this is that a lot of your ingredients are organic, or you use several raw ingredients and that's one of your selling points. Before, you could show that information in your ingredient list by adding the words "raw" or "organic" before each ingredient or manually overwriting the ingredient list and losing the structure we provide. Adding an extra word to every ingredient can make for an extra long list if you have more than 3 or 4 in your product.
Now you have the option to add that information as a note at the end of your list. All you have to do is check that option on the ingredient list page, and you can type in whatever notes you want.
To show that multiple ingredients have one quality or characteristic, you can put an asterisk ("*") next to each ingredient you want the note to apply to and then set what the asterisk means by typing something like "*=organic" or "*=raw" or "*=non-GMO" or even "*=organic and non-GMO". If something applies to every single ingredient in the list, you can skip the * and just say that "All ingredients are organic."
Add More Information
Not only can you simplify and condense your ingredient list with this feature, but also you can add extra information that you couldn't before. For example, ReciPal lets you choose to show information about facility allergens on the label page, but maybe it's important for you to stress that your product was made in a facility that doesn't process any nuts. Now you can add that information as a note to make it abundantly clear.
Anything you put into a note will stay in your ingredient field automatically. We think that's a lot better than having to update the ingredient list manually and worrying about whether or not you've overwritten anything and is one more thing that makes using our nutrition label maker a little easier and more flexible to use at the end of the day.
