How to Embed Nutrition Labels on your Website

Posted on June 06, 2020 by

Companies (and customers) often want to create nutrition labels for their food packaging AND also include them on their website - it's actually required, believe it or not.

Your Website Needs Labels Too

Basically anywhere you're marketing and selling your product is considered a food label, and you would want the corresponding required information available there - nutrition, ingredients, allergens, business info, etc. For more information, check out why your website needs nutrition labels.

Embed Your Label With 1 Line of Code

You can accomplish that task however you choose, but one very convenient way to put your nutrition label on your website is to use ReciPal's embed tool. It's 1 line of HTML code for your website and works just like you embed a YouTube video, but instead of a video it will show the nutrition label for that recipe you set up on ReciPal.

First, click the "Get Embed Code" button at the bottom of the Recipe Label page. Then you can pick which type of label you want to embed (New FDA, New Canadian, or Old FDA), and if you want to include the ingredient list and allergens. Those options set the embed code so it shows the right set of information on your website.

You can even play around with this on our sample label page.

Pick your label type, ingredient and allergen settings, and copy the embed code!

Keep Your Labels In Sync

Every recipe on ReciPal has a unique embed code that you can use for this. And if you change your recipe on ReciPal, then the embed code automatically updates the nutrition label on your website too.
